The RYA Powerboat Level 2 training course is run over 2 days and is the place to start a hobby or career on the water. Using either of our Ribraft rib boats we will teach how to make a tidal sea passage during daylight hours. You do not need any previous experience at the helm of a boat to take this course. Passing this level 2 powerboat course allows you to apply for an ICC - International Certificate of Competence.

Our Southampton Ocean Village marina base is perfect for teaching the level 2 course due to calm but busy waters of the Ichen river and the Southampton main channel. They provide us with nearly every navigational mark as well as plenty of water traffic to give you real life training. When you have gained your level 2 certificate you will be able to bareboat a rib boat in Southampton.

Lymington RYA Powerboat Level 2 Training Courses

The Lymington river is a beautiful place to start your new powerboating hobby or add to the skills you already have. Our sister training centre the LTSSP is on the shores of the river and offers the powerboat level 2 course for groups of up to 3 students on each 2 day course. Like our Southampton centre we will run this course on any date for groups of 2 or 3 students. For single students check our scheduled courses below.

The course will be on a Ribcraft 5.3m rib speed boat from either Southampton`s Ocean Village marina or Lymington marina, whichever is easier for you.

We feel it essential to spend as much of the course as possible out on the water. Classroom time will be kept to minimum, but some indoor time is required. Our classroom overlooks the marina with kitchen & toilet facilities on hand.

The course runs with a maximum of 3 students per instructor/boat. We do offer a discount for single booking for all 3 places on this course being £699 for all 3 places, hence £233 per person with free 20% off a rib charter day that is worth a minium of £40.
