We have a commercial 12 man rib boat, an able and willing skipper, 315 litres of BP`s finest safety stowed below, put that together with a new Suzuki 300hp lean burn engine means a massive 300 mile range. State of the art Garmin sat nav and safety equipment that would shame the most politically correct county council. OK, all we need is a crew. That`s you. This is going to be some serious ribbing. Day 1 So lets leave Lymington as early as we can on say, a Saturday morning. The sights will include :- The Needles Lighthouse & Rocks We need to travel some 45 miles to Portland marina for a late breakfast or early lunch depending on the progress made. We now leave the safety of Portland harbour to face the Portland race, which can be a challenge ! We should now have a long afternoon to explore from Chisel Beach to Lyme Regis with a pit stop at West Bay ( Bridport ). Our evening stop is either at Weymouth or Portland depending on accommodation, but we intend to use the long summer evening, so not hitting land until 7pm. It will be a good meal, a few drinks and bed. Day 2 Leave harbour as early as heads permit. If we have spent the night at Portland , then breakfast is at Weymouth. We now have Lulworth Cove, Worbarrow Bay and Chapman`s Pool to enjoy ( Swimming Costume & Towel required). Around St Alban`s head brings Swanage & Studland Bay, those who did not swim at Lulworth Bay will really feel the urge now, the guests that did swim at Lulworth will already be in the water. Now for Poole Harbour, the second biggest natural harbour after Sydney Australia. Lunch, Brownsea Island and Sandbanks are all available. When we have all tried we have a 1 hour blast back to Lymington to exchange moments in the Bistro bar before going our seperate ways. Hope you enjoyed the adventure. Lyme Bay Rib Charter
